Find the amount of water displaced by a solid spherical ball of diameter
i) 28 cm
ii) 0.21 m.

Answer :

i)Given :
Radius of sphere = \(\frac{28}{2} cm = 14 cm\)

We know that,

Volume of sphere
= \(\frac{4}{3}{\pi}{r}^3\)
= \(\frac{4}{3} × \frac{22}{7} × {14}^3\) \({cm}^3\)
= \(11498\frac{2}{3}\) \({cm}^3\)

Therefore, the volume of the sphere is \(11498\frac{2}{3}\) \({cm}^3\).

ii)Given :
Radius of sphere = \(\frac{0.21}{2} m = 0.105 m\)

We know that,

Volume of sphere
= \(\frac{4}{3}{\pi}{r}^3\)
= \(\frac{4}{3} × \frac{22}{7} × {0.105}^3\) \({m}^3\)
= \(0.004851\) \({m}^3\)

Therefore, the volume of the sphere is \(0.004851\) \({m}^3\).
