Judge the equivalent resistance when the following are connected in parallel –
(a) 1 \( \Omega \) and 106\( \Omega \),

(b) 1\( \Omega \) and 103\( \Omega \), and 106\( \Omega \).

Answer :

When the resistances are connected in parallel, the equivalent resistance is smaller than the smallest individual resistance.so here we have the smallest resistance as 1 \( \Omega \) so,

(i) Equivalent resistance < 1\( \Omega \).

(ii) Equivalent resistance < 1\( \Omega \).
