4.Solve the equations: \(\frac { 3 }{ 7 } + x = \frac { 17 }{ 7 }\)

Answer :

We have:\(\frac { 3 }{ 7 } + x = \frac { 17 }{ 7 }\)
⇒\(\frac { 3 }{ 7 } -\frac{3}7 + x = \frac { 17 }{ 7 }-\frac{3}7 \quad \) (subtracting \(\frac{3}7\) on both sides)

⇒ x=\(\frac{17-3}7\)

⇒ x=\(\frac{14}7=2\)

⇒ x=2

Check:

Keep x=2 in the given equation:

L.H.S= x+\(\frac{3}7\)=\(\frac{3}7+2\)=\(\frac{3+2×7}{7}\)= \(\frac{17}7 \)=R.H.S

Hence we have x=2 as the solution.
