1.Find the value of the polynomial \(5x - 4x^2 + 3\) at :
i) x = 0
ii) x = -1
iii) x = 2
Answer :

Let f(x) = \(5x - 4x^2 + 3\)
i)The value of f(x) at x = 0 is :
= \(5(0) - 4(0)^2 + 3\)
= 3
f(0) = 3.

ii)The value of f(x) at x = -1 is :
= \(5(-1) - 4(-1)^2 + 3\)
= -5 - 4 + 3
= -6
f(-1) = -6.

iii)The value of f(x) at x = 2 is :
= \(5(2) - 4(2)^2 + 3\)
= 10 - 16 + 3
= -3
f(2) = -3.
