During an experiment, a signal from a spaceship reached the ground station in five minutes. What was the distance of the spaceship from the ground station? The signal travels at the speed of light, that is, \( 3 × 10^8\) m/s.

Answer :

Given, time taken by signal to reach ground = 5 min = 5×60 = 300 s

and speed of signal was \( 3 × 10^8\) m/s.

We know that, speed = \( Distance \over time \) => distance = speed × time

So, Distance \( = 3×10^8 × 300 = 9 × 10^{10} \) m
