We know that, area of trapezium=$$\frac{1}2\times (sum\; of \;parallel \;sides)\times (distances \;between\; them)$$

$$34=\frac{1}2\times(10+x)\times 4$$

$$34=2(10+x)$$

$$10+x=17$$

$$x=7$$

Hence, the required side is 7cm.
